Behold....the ultimate in 1970s vacuums....the Filter Queen 700
It used to belong to my girlfriends grandmother, and apparently cost around $3000 when new......for comparison, my dads LandCruiser was $7500 new, in 1976. And I must say, as far as vaccuums go, it kicks ass

For $3000 in 1976, it better be good.

It was marketed as the only vacuum you’d need for the rest of your life, and this one is still working perfectly, so I’d call that good haha. Still a hell of a lot for a vacuum

There’s a subreddit for stuff that’s old and still working. It’s awesome and that vacuum belongs there.

Funny, if you said it sucks ass, it would be closer to the truth (after all, what vacuum “kicks” anything?), but yet so much farther from the truth.

Say that vacuum was from 1976. Adjusted for inflation, that vacuum would cost $12,564.99 today. Holy shit.

Well. It just depends. How much does it suck?

My Kirby is a fucking animal, will suck the carpet from the floors. I went to get a vacuum fixed years ago and the guy said all these new fangled machines are weak and break. So I bought a beast that looks like it was hewn from a block of aluminum. I got a 1983 that was reconditioned. I got the whole box of attachments too. Looks like this one exactly.Sweet 80’s graphics, I feel like I clean with a Cylon.

That’s awesome, I love finding old things that are built better. This thing is making me want more old tools and appliances

Very cool. Although I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around paying good used car money for a vacuum. That must have been one hell of a salesman!

My mom has one like that. Bought in the 1980s, still works today.
